The Installation Notes [apple.com] says that you need a VESA 2.0 compatiable video card and VMWare doesn't emulate such a video card.

Not wishing to be rude or at all inflammatory but for those of us who are using Mac OS X will already have 1.3.7 as the version of Darwin (OS X 10.0.4). Although this may not have as yet propogated down to the iso's yet. I would definately say it has been released
