Well good to hear that FreeBSD or any open os is making inroads in india, as it seems india is a big microsoft place ( in terms of the aptitude of most companies and educational institutions ).

As for bathing in water as an act of holiness, Christianity does that as well. The act of baptism, you know. Every religion has places that are more holy than others, and acts of cleansing or devotion.
If you want to scorn India, remember that the population of it's middle class is larger than the entire U.S. population. It's the biggest democracy on the planet. What problems it does have all stem from a corrupt government.

A country like India has the most educated population in the world, with 99% literacy rate, and first class educational institutions. The USA may rest on its IT laurels at the moment, but in 10-20 years time, it will be us Americans applying to the Indian embassy for the equivalent of an H1-B. Mark my words.
