Submission + - Flash 10.1 beta no acceleration for Linux 3

Manic Miner writes: Adobe have been working on 10.1 for a while with the promise of hardware accelerated h.264 video playback, to help the likes of youtube, hulu, BBC iPlayer etc. And it has been released on Linux, Windows and OS X. However there is one slight catch, only windows gets the hardware acceleration. There is a short note on the last page of the release notes: "Linux currently lacks a developed standard API that supports H.264 hardware video decoding". Seems odd that despite working closely with nvidia (http://www.nvidia.com/object/adobe_flashplayer_plus_nvidia.html) it seems that Adobe still hadn't heard of nvidia's VDPAU api.

There is a thread on the 10.1 beta forums is anyone wants to comment: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/525931?tstart=0
