jfruh writes "There are a number of benchmarks that will tell you exactly how fast your browser renders complicated CSS-styled HTML and executes JavaScript, and techies enjoy tracking this sort of performance down to the millisecond. The problem is that these kinds of tests don't reveal much about real-world browser performance. If you want to see how responsive your browser will seem in practice, the number one metric you need to pay attention to is the browser's memory footprint."
