mikejuk writes: Every January it is traditional to compare the state of the languages as indicated by the TIOBE index. So what's up and what's down this year?
The top language is still Java but its slowly falling in the percentages. The biggest gainers are Objective-C and JavaScript. Presumably this is because of iOS and HTML5 mania respectively.
If you like outside runners then cheer for Lua and R which have just entered the top 20 but wonder why Logo is in as well!? I know programming education is becoming important but Logo!
Don't take it too seriously — the Tiobe index is a very doubtful sort of statistic but it gives us something to compare — and argue about...
